素粒子のことを知りたくて量子力学の本を読んでいた頃から描き始めた。
素粒子という極小の単位が集まり、銀河の渦や巻き貝の螺旋と同じ構造を繰り返す…そのスケールを超えた相似性をイメージした。
巻き貝、指紋、雲、螺旋、渦巻き、、、あと蚊取り線香も？
引っ張り合うお互いの力、点でもあり波でもある、光のような存在。
それぞれが響きあうということは一体何が起こっているのだろう、どんな姿をしているのだろう。
息を吐くように、
自然と絵を手放して描くことをやめたときに、
頭の中に「わ」という音が響いた。

これは、なにを意味してるのかな
–
I started drawing during a period when I was reading books on quantum mechanics, trying to understand elementary particles.
I pictured a similarity that crosses scale: elementary particles — the smallest units — gather and repeat the same structure as a galaxy’s spiral or a snail shell’s spiral. Spiral shells, fingerprints, clouds, spirals, vortices… and maybe mosquito coils too? Forces pulling on each other, existing as both point and wave, like light. What is actually happening when each of these things resonates with one another? What form does that take?
Like exhaling a breath — when I let go of the drawing naturally and stopped, the sound “wa” echoed in my head.
環 (ring) . 輪 (circle) . 和 (harmony) . 話 (speech) . 羽 (feather) . 倭 (Wa/Japan) .

Wa.
I wonder what this means.
