火を生み出すもの。
指先へ向かって細く伸びる輪郭や、上方へ立ち上がる動きは、燃え上がる炎のシルエットを連想させる。
ずっと描き続けてるひとつのモチーフ。
種から穂へと実ること
人間の手で生み出される豊かさ
恵みと破壊する行為と火の二面性
様々なことを思う。
ほのおの漢字はかつて
火の穂と書いた。
人の心に光を照らす火の穂であってほしい。

That which gives birth to fire.
The contours that taper thin toward the fingertips, the movement that rises upward
— they evoke the silhouette of a blazing flame.
It’s one motif I keep returning to, again and again.
Ripening from seed into ear. Abundance brought forth by human hands.
The duality of fire — an act of blessing, and an act of destruction.
I think about all of this.
The character for honoo (flame) was once written as “fire’s ear of grain” (火の穂).
I hope it can be that — an ear of fire that casts light into people’s hearts.
